COMPETITORS may enter ONCE in each class of THEIR OWN AGE except Groups and Acts.
NO POINTE WORK IS ALLOWED UNDER 13 YRS OF AGE.
AGE OF COMPETITOR to be taken from 1st September 2018. In duets, trios, quartets, Acts and Groups the age of the eldest competitor counts. SOLOS maximum age 18 years.
ENTRIES AND FEES closing date is 31st July 2018, or sooner if the maximum dance time is reached. Cheques should be made payable to Gosport Music Festival. Due to the expected high levels of entries dancers & dance schools within a 35 mile radius will be given first priority.
SONG & DANCE AND CHARACTER - 1/2 minute extra in each division.
TIME LIMITS for each dance will be strictly adhered to.
ALL TROPHIES will be held for nine months and must be returned by 1st August 2019. NOT AT THE FESTIVAL. The holders will be held responsible for their safe keeping and for replacement if lost and professional repair if damaged. Trophies must be signed for before being removed from the festival and remain the property of the festival.

IF PRE-RECORDED MUSIC IS USED in any Song & Dance section it MUST NOT include any singing or chanting. Pre-recorded music used in tap sections MUST NOT include any tap or similar sound.
CD PLAYER AND AUX Facilities WILL BE PROVIDED FOR THE USE OF TEACHERS OR DESIGNATED PERSON. It is advisable to have a back up.
PHOTOGRAPHY , VIDEO OR TAPE RECORDING OF ANY KIND AND THE USE OF MOBILE PHONES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED.
The competition contributes to a Group Licence to cover payment of fees for the use of recorded music at its events and does not accept any liability for the infringement of copyright, recording or performing rights arising out of any competitors accompaniment or performance Teachers and choreographers using tapes created from commercial recordings are advised that they are themselves responsible for seeking permission to re-record from the recording companies concerned.
THE ADJUDICATOR’S DECISION IS FINAL, and any communication with the adjudicator concerning any matters relating to the competition is strictly prohibited.
ADJUDICATOR’S REMARK SHEETS AND CERTIFICATES may be collected from the boxes outside the hall.
THE COMMITTEE reserves the right to i) Accept or reject any proposed entry ii) Amalgamate or divide classes.
NO PRAMS OR PUSHCHAIRS CAN BE BROUGHT INTO THE HALL
REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE.
This competition is for amateurs and students who do not derive the main part of their income from the teaching or performing of dance.
No re-dances will be allowed over the age of 7 years. Unless technical difficulties
Competitors should be ready to perform at least 15mins before the start of their class
Entry is deemed to be an acceptance of the above rules.

By completing and signing the entry form all parents / guardians / carers and teachers of competitors under 18 (or vulnerable adults of any age) confirm that they give (or have obtained) the necessary consents for the competitors to take part in the Festival.
